In a groundbreaking move for the Asian maritime sector, Yinson GreenTech and Evoy have formalised a partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at accelerating marine electrification across the region. The collaboration combines Yinson GreenTech’s advanced electrification solutions with Evoy’s cutting-edge electric propulsion systems, marking a significant step towards the conversion of traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) vessels to electric-powered alternatives.
The initiative is part of a broader effort to drive sustainability in the maritime industry, as both companies work to explore new opportunities, co-develop upcoming projects, and contribute to the shift toward greener, more sustainable shipping solutions in Asia. This partnership is expected to play a pivotal role in reducing emissions and promoting the adoption of electric vessels in the region.
The MoU was signed by Jan-Viggo Johansen, managing director of marinEV at Yinson GreenTech, and Mads Roland-Glimsholt, business development manager at Evoy.
Mads Roland-Glimsholt expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, "As a proud partner in this Norway-Singapore initiative, Evoy is excited to bring our high-performance electric propulsion systems to Singapore’s maritime landscape. We are committed to setting new standards in sustainable harbour craft and working with our partners to support a greener future in maritime transport."
