Wärtsilä Marine has signed two lifecycle agreements covering the operational support of two Japanese-owned RoPax ferries operated by Shin Nihonkai Ferry (SNF). The two ferries in question are the Hamayu and Soleil, 15,515gt-vessels built in 2022 and 2021 respectively, which are powered by four Wärtsilä 31 diesel engines each and operate on the busy Yokosuka-Shinmoji route.
The two five-year lifecycle agreements cover remote 24/7 support for each ferry in case of need, and are designed to provide optimal operational support in ensuring reliable and efficient performance of the two ferries.
The scope of the two agreements also includes asset diagnostics and anomaly detection via Wärtsilä’s Expert Insight predictive maintenance service.
Expert Insight proactively identifies and highlights potential failures and early indications of equipment defects that cause vessels to run less efficiently.
