Wärtsilä has signed a 15-year Lifecycle Agreement with China LNG Shipping (International) Co. Ltd. (CLSICO) covering three LNG carriers. The agreement took effect in August 2025 and was recorded by Wärtsilä in Q3 2025.

The arrangement is intended to ensure operational reliability, provide flexibility in scheduling maintenance and extend the ‘time between overhauls’ of auxiliary engines. The three vessels covered are the Al Tuwar, the Al Mas’habiyyah and the Fat’h Al Khair. Each is around 300m in length with a capacity of 174,000m³ and fitted with two eight-cylinder and two six-cylinder Wärtsilä 34DF dual-fuel engines.

“With the LNG ship transportation industry chain entering a period of rapid development, we are committed to operating our LNG ships safely, reliably and efficiently. Wärtsilä’s Lifecycle Agreements play an important role here,” said Andrew Johnston, General Manager, CLSICO.

The deal gives CLSICO access to Wärtsilä’s Expert Insight predictive maintenance system, including Dynamic Maintenance Planning and 24/7 remote support. According to Wärtsilä, the tool can predict failures before they occur, lowering the risk of unplanned repairs and optimising operating expenditure.
