Battling severe weather and a tight 40-day dry docking schedule, Team Electric has completed a major electrical installation and refit on Royal Caribbean’s Allure of the Seas. The Finland-based firm deployed 60 electricians across hotel areas, galleys, and public spaces, working under contracts from Almaco, Makinen and LMG.

The project included laying 121km of cabling, installing 4,500m of cable trays, and fitting nearly 2,000 lights. Team Electric also handled the electrical installation of 61 new prefabricated cabins craned aboard, complete with corridors, air conditioning spaces, and infrastructure.

Public area upgrades included the new Mason Jar restaurant, refurbished galleys, a renovated Crown Lounge, and a teen gaming area. Technically, the team upgraded navigation and communication systems, including full bridge rewiring with nine kilometres of cabling, and delivered a turnkey installation of Fugro’s OceanStar system.

High winds and 30 days of rain caused delays, but careful planning helped the team meet all deadlines. “In public areas especially, we can’t even install light fittings until the ceiling is in… it takes extreme coordination,” said project manager Daniel Brown. “Every task affects the next.

“We’re well-known in the industry for delivering complex and multi-faceted electrical refits, especially cabins and public areas,” Brown added. “We’re not always the cheapest, but clients know we get the job done on time and to the highest standards.”
