The Norway-flagged Skandi Minder has arrived at Vard Langsten quay to start an aftermarket shiprepair and conversion project for offshore owner DOF. The vessel, designed for field installation operations across a wide range of water depths and conditions, will undergo a tightly scheduled programme that matches the yard’s capacity and technical competence.
The scope of work covers interior repairs, installation of a new ROV and launch and recovery system, overhaul of the main engine and extensive surface treatment. The project aims to return the vessel to service with improved operational readiness for subsea and offshore tasks.
Yard director Odd Henrik Iversen said: “This is a very good fit for us, and a project we are well suited to deliver. It allows us to utilise our multidisciplinary competence and deliver efficiently within a tight timeframe.”
Bjørn Hellebust, vice-president ship repair and conversion at Vard, added: “Assignments like this demonstrate the strength of our aftermarket offering and our ability to support customers throughout a vessel’s lifecycle.”
Close coordination between yard and owner underpins the schedule. Trond Arve Grotle, project manager at DOF, said: “DOF has had a strong collaboration with Vard for many years, and we are pleased to continue this partnership.”
The docking highlights Vard Langsten’s role in complex aftermarket work for advanced offshore tonnage.
