Seven Arctic departs Balaena Tyne following drydocking programme

Balaena has completed a drydocking and maintenance programme for the UK-flagged offshore support vessel Seven Arctic, which has now left the company's Tyne facility following work carried out on behalf of Subsea7.
The project included a range of maintenance activities, including hull preparation and inspections. Balaena said its large-scale thruster pit played a key role during the programme, enabling inspection work to be undertaken on the vessel's propulsion equipment while in drydock.
The contract forms part of an ongoing relationship between Balaena and Subsea7, with the shiprepair group continuing to support vessels operating in the offshore energy sector.
Chris Davies, business development lead at Balaena, said: “Balaena's project management teams are developing an in-depth understanding of the Subsea7 fleet through our Learning from Experience (LFE) programme and ongoing collaboration with the Subsea7 team.”
Balaena added that the experience gained from repeat projects enables its teams to refine planning and execution processes for future vessel maintenance programmes.
The company provides a range of offshore support services across its facilities, including shiprepair, vessel mobilisation and demobilisation projects, major conversions, module fabrication and subsea structure fabrication.
The completion of the Seven Arctic project represents the latest offshore vessel maintenance programme undertaken at Balaena Tyne as the company continues to target work from offshore support vessel operators and wider energy-sector clients.
