Sefine Shipyard, represented by OKT Shipping Ltd., has officially commissioned its third large dock with the arrival of its first vessel in the newly constructed 360m x 58m floating dock. With a lifting capacity of 75,000 tonnes, the facility marks a major expansion of the yard’s ship repair and conversion capabilities.
The Turkish yard Sefine now operates three major docks: dock No.1, a 240m x 42m graving dock with a capacity of 90,000dwt, capable of taking post-panamax vessels; dock No.2, a 282m x 47m floating dock with capacity for ships of up to 120,000dwt such as Aframax tankers; and the new dock No.3, a 360m x 58m floating dock with a 75,000-tonne lifting capacity.
The development significantly enhances the shipyard’s ability to accommodate a broader range of vessels and undertake more complex marine engineering projects. It also reinforces Sefine’s position as a regional leader in the Eastern Mediterranean for large-scale repair, retrofitting, and industrial maritime work.
With the addition of Dock No.3, the shipyard is now well-positioned to meet rising demand in the energy, cargo, and offshore sectors, while supporting Turkey’s ambition to become a key player in international maritime services.
