Seatrium has secured a contract from Golar Hilli Corporation, a subsidiary of Golar LNG, to carry out upgrading work on the FLNG Hilli Episeyo. The project will take place in Singapore, with the vessel due to enter the yard in the third quarter of 2026.

The scope includes engineering and procurement of long-lead items, repair and life extension measures, winterisation work, and the installation of a new soft-yoke mooring system. With a nameplate capacity of 2.45 million tonnes of LNG per year, Hilli Episeyo is expected to restart operations in 2027, redeploying to the Gulf of San Matías, offshore Argentina, where it will process gas from the onshore Vaca Muerta shale field in Neuquén Province, over 20 years.

It was originally converted from an LNG carrier by Seatrium and delivered in 2017. The company has also delivered the FLNG Gimi to Golar, which entered service in 2023 at the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim project.

Seatrium said the new contract demonstrates continuity in its LNG workstream, which has included LNG carriers, bunkering vessels and dual-fuel projects since its first LNGC drydocking in the 1980s.
