Seatrium secures eighth FSRU conversion for Karpowership

Seatrium Limited has won a contract from Karpowership to convert a new Floating Storage Regasification Unit (FSRU), marking its eighth FSRU conversion project for the company. Scheduled to begin in Q3 2026, the project will convert the LNG carrier LNGT Karadeniz into a high-capacity FSRU with a regasification capacity of up to 600 million standard cubic feet per day (MMcf/d).

The conversion scope includes installation of a regasification module, spread-mooring system, and integration of critical systems covering cargo handling, LNG offloading, utilities, electrical distribution, and advanced automation and control, ensuring efficient and safe operations.

Seatrium has now executed over 90% of global FSU/FSRU conversions, having delivered 23 such projects to date. This reinforces its position as a market leader in LNG-to-power systems and highlights its strategic partnership with Karpowership, which relies on Seatrium’s engineering expertise and project management capabilities to expand its fleet and support the global energy transition.
