Cunard’s flagship Queen Mary 2 will undergo a major refurbishment at Damen Shiprepair Brest in France from March 31st to May 9th 2027, covering accommodation, public spaces, wellness facilities and retail areas.
The British-flagged Queen Mary 2 will receive 31 new staterooms during the drydocking, including 16 Princess Grill Suites and 15 Britannia-category staterooms. Existing Grill Suites will be refurbished with new interiors, furnishings and spa-inspired bathrooms, while the Queens Grill and Princess Grill restaurants will also be upgraded.
The programme will add outdoor deck space and expand the vessel’s kennels, including increased capacity, a refurbished owners’ lounge and a larger walking area. The Mareel Wellness & Beauty area will be transformed, while new boutique-style retail outlets will be added.
The ship’s Illuminations planetarium will receive a digital upgrade. The design work is being led by Chris Finch, one of the original designers of Queen Mary 2.
“This is a significant investment in Queen Mary 2, and every decision has been approached with deep respect for her heritage, her character and the sense of occasion that only Queen Mary 2 can offer,” said Cunard president Katie McAlister.
