P&O Cruises has confirmed that its flagship vessel Iona has entered drydock for her first scheduled maintenance period, resulting in the cancellation of two voyages this month.

Originally slated for March 2025, the docking was brought forward to October due to shipyard scheduling constraints. The affected sailings include a 14-night Canary Islands cruise that was due to depart Southampton on October 4th and a seven-night northern Europe voyage scheduled for October 18.

Guests booked on these cruises are being offered a full refund and £100 per person in onboard credit when rebooking - applicable to the first two guests per cabin.

Launched in 2021, Iona is one of Carnival Corporation’s Excel-class LNG-powered ships. Following completion of its drydocking and refurbishment, the ship is scheduled to return to service on October 23rd for a two-night mini cruise, followed by a seven-night Spain and France itinerary departing October 25th from Southampton.

P&O Cruises said it “looks forward to welcoming guests back aboard Iona following her drydock,” highlighting the maintenance as part of the line’s ongoing commitment to fleet enhancement and guest experience.
