PaxOcean has opened a new SGD 200 million (EUR 136 million) facility in Singapore’s Jurong Industrial Estate, replacing its Tuas yard. The 17.26-hectare site at 5 Jalan Samulun includes two graving docks, one floating dock, expanded quayside and integrated workshops to handle complex maritime and offshore assets. The project was supported by JTC Corp and the Singapore Economic Development Board.
PaxOcean says the larger footprint will allow faster turnaround and more complex repair, conversion and newbuilding projects. The yard also incorporates a Centre of Excellence dedicated to engineering R&D, with more than SGD 3.5 million, about EUR 2.38 million, committed over three years to research in carbon capture, systems integration, simulation and digital twin applications.
The site features an innovation hub known as iHub5, intended to bring together industry experts and technology partners. PaxOcean operates five yards across Singapore, China and Indonesia, with a maintenance, repair and operations facility under construction in Saudi Arabia. The new Singapore yard strengthens regional capacity for drydocking and advanced shiprepair work.
