Norway’s Kongsberg Maritime has successfully completed the installation of a hybrid battery power system on the 3,821dwt 2019-built Seacor Yangtze, owned by US-based Seacor Marine. This is the first of five PSVs to be converted for this operator – the other four vessels are Seacor Ohio, Seacor Alps, Seacor Andes and Seacor Atlas.

Work started on fitting the deckhouse energy storage system (ESS) on Seacor Yangtze in February and was completed on April 4th. All retrofits for the Houston, Texas-based PSV operator will be completed by the end of 2025, when 50% of Seacor’s PSV fleet will be battery hybrid powered.
