The Liberia-flagged YC Fortitude has received an Eco Boss Cap retrofit from EcoNavis Solutions, marking a second installation for Thailand-based Kaizen Ship Management following verified fuel savings on an earlier vessel.
The installation follows a retrofit on the Panama-flagged SYFC Araya in July 2025, where the operator reported fuel savings of between 2.2% and 2.5% after six months of operation.
Managing director Kishen Dev Singh said the results supported further deployment. “SYFC Araya demonstrated consistent fuel savings. Based on what we have observed from the first installation, we were confident in proceeding with a second vessel and are evaluating further applications across the fleet.”
The Eco Boss Cap is designed to reduce propeller hub vortex cavitation and improve propulsion efficiency through a vessel-specific configuration.
Founder Batuhan Aktas said the short verification period was notable. “What is particularly significant is that the customer has observed measurable improvements within a relatively short operational period,” he said.
EcoNavis said the system can deliver efficiency gains of up to 5%, depending on vessel type and operating profile.
