HJ Lubricators has unveiled SIP+, the latest evolution of its patented Swirl Injection Principle (SIP) valve for two-stroke marine engines, designed to reduce retrofit downtime and fuel-oil consumption.

The new SIP+ valve eliminates the need for liner machining and top-cover removal, reducing installation time by more than one-third - enabling retrofits during standard port calls. It retains all the benefits of the original SIP design, including uniform oil distribution, lower luboil consumption, and reduced liner wear, while being fully compatible with dual-fuel engines.

“SIP+ takes a proven concept and makes it easier and faster to install, while maintaining optimal lubrication at low feed rates,” said Mark Kristensen, head of sales at HJ Lubricators. “Downtime is one of the biggest hidden costs in fleet operations, and SIP+ makes upgrades both practical and cost-effective.”

HJ estimates a typical payback period of about three years, supported by an online calculator to estimate savings. With over 3,500 systems in service, the company sees SIP+ as a key step toward greater energy efficiency and emissions reduction.
