Hapag Lloyd Cruises’ Hanseatic Inspiration completes drydocking in Bremerhaven

Hapag Lloyd Cruises’ expedition cruise vessel Hanseatic Inspiration completed a ten-day scheduled drydocking on May 23rd at Bremerhaven’s cruise ship refit and conversion specialist Lloyd Werft. The drydocking took place in the yard’s Kaiserdock II graving dock, with the scope of work carried out on the 15,651gt 2019-built vessel including routine maintenance, class work and technical overhauls, as well as upgrades to the expedition vessel’s hotel side.
Meanwhile, also undergoing repair at Lloyd Werft on May 19th were the following vessels:
- Octopus – 9,9332gt 2033-built Mega Yacht, new owners not known, it is believed to be the world’s largest explorer yacht, which is now being readied for the global charter market
- Polarstern – 12,614gt 1982-built polar research/survey vessel, owned by Germany’s Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research, Bremerhaven, this vessel has just returned home after a major deployment to Antarctica
