Drydocks World has launched its new 5,000-tonne floating crane Alnokhada, completing the main fabrication stage of a project scheduled for delivery in Dubai in the second quarter of 2026. Built by ZPMC Offshore, the crane barge has moved to the outfitting phase, which includes installation and testing of onboard systems ahead of commissioning in the first quarter of 2026.
The floating crane is 138.5m long with a 52m beam and 5.8m draught. Its lifting arrangement consists of a 5,000-tonne main hook and a 600-tonne auxiliary hook with a reach of 180m. Once in service, it will join the company’s heavy-lift fleet to support large offshore, industrial and energy projects.
Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem said: “Alnokhada stands as a powerful symbol of the UAE’s engineering ambition.”
Capt Rado Antolovic said the crane strengthens the yard’s capacity to deliver major offshore and industrial projects.
