A senior delegation from Drydocks World, a DP World company, visited Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) this month to further joint efforts in developing ship repair clusters across India.

Led by CEO Captain Rado Antolovic, the team toured CSL’s main Kochi yard, the newly commissioned 310m dry dock, the International Ship Repair Facility (ISRF), and the Marine Engineering Training Institute.

The visit follows a Memorandum of Understanding signed in Mumbai, with both parties focused on operationalising the partnership. CSL Chairman and Managing Director Madhu S Nair held discussions with the Drydocks team to identify immediate and long-term collaboration opportunities, beginning with joint work at ISRF Kochi.

The initiative supports India’s Maritime India Vision 2030 and Amrit Kaal Vision 2047 by aiming to boost the country’s ship repair and offshore fabrication capabilities. The partnership seeks to combine global expertise with local infrastructure to create a world-class maritime ecosystem.

“We are happy to host the CEO and top leadership of Drydocks World at Cochin Shipyard,” said CSL md Nair. “Their visit marks an important step in strengthening our collaboration under the MoU signed between us and we look forward to working together to unlock new opportunities in the ship repair domain."

The venture also aims to enhance marine engineering training and generate skilled employment in line with national ambitions.
