Dong Fang Offshore selects ScanReach system for offshore wind fleet

Dong Fang Offshore has selected ScanReach’s ConnectPOB personnel-on-board system for deployment across its commissioning service operation vessels and cable laying vessels supporting offshore wind projects in Taiwan. The company said the system will be retrofitted to both existing vessels and newbuildings as fleet capacity expands.
ScanReach said ConnectPOB provides real-time personnel visibility through a wireless mesh network, enabling operators to monitor crew and technicians across operational zones without cabling or structural modifications. Wearable devices allow automatic detection of personnel location, supporting operational awareness and emergency response.
“Offshore wind vessels often operate with teams working across multiple operational areas of the vessel,” said Michael Hendricks, APAC director at ScanReach. “ConnectPOB gives lead operators an intuitive and reliable way to maintain visibility of personnel onboard while supporting efficient mustering and safety procedures.”
Dong Fang Offshore said the system will support safety standards as Taiwan’s offshore wind sector expands. Ollie Chasteauneuf, fleet manager, said, “With large numbers of technicians and project personnel working alongside our marine crews, having clear and reliable visibility of personnel onboard is essential.”
