DC Orisant completes drydocking at Orskov Yard

The Netherlands-flagged Hopper Dredger DC Orisant has completed a period of drydocking at Orskov Yard (DK), where the vessel underwent steelwork, engine installations, electrical repairs and safety system maintenance.
The yard carried out various work-streams in parallel to minimise downtime, reflecting the time-sensitive nature of drydocking for operational vessels. The works formed part of routine maintenance aimed at ensuring continued operational efficiency.
The vessel’s captain, Dave van de Gruiter, said drydock periods remain a key factor for working vessels, with limited margins for delay. “For a working vessel, time in drydock is always a critical phase. Planning is tight, expectations are high, and delays directly impact operations.
“What stands out most about Orskov Yard is their professionalism combined with a genuine understanding of our operational time pressures. They recognise that every hour matters and act accordingly.”
He also highlighted the yard’s ability to respond to changing project scopes. “What I particularly value about Orskov Yard is the flexibility. During any docking project, unforeseen or additional work inevitably arises. Another major strength is the wide range of services they can deliver together with their trusted partners. Having all these disciplines aligned and working efficiently together significantly contributes to a smooth docking period.”
