One of China’s leading commercial ship repair and conversion yards, Yiu Lian Dockyards (Shekou) Ltd, based in the south of the country, close to Hong Kong, successfully completed the five-day drydocking and refit of the 75,338gt 1999-built cruise ship Resorts World One, owned by Resorts World Cruises, on April 11th.

This is the first time that the vessel, formerly SuperStar Virgo, has been repaired in China. The 1,804-passenger capacity vessel’s last drydocking was in 2023 at one of Seatrium’s Singapore yards.

The work scope carried out on Resorts World One included hull painting, lifeboat inspection and maintenance, engine repairs, class work, and upgrades to cabins and public spaces.

Resorts World Cruises was very impressed with the work undertaken by Yiu Lian Dockyards. In a statement the owners said: “The collaboration with Yiu Lian has been nothing short of extraordinary, reflecting the high standards and technical expertise required for such intricate work.

“The partnership is a testament to our confidence with the shipyard’s ability to meet and exceed the demanding requirements of cruise ship repairs. We are not only content with the current project’s progress, but also excited about the potential for long-term collaboration.”
