Carnival Legend completes month-long drydocking in Marseille

Carnival Legend has completed a month-long dry-docking in Marseille (Source: CCL)

Carnival Cruise Line’s Carnival Legend is scheduled to complete a month-long drydocking and refit at France’s leading Mediterranean ship repairer Chantier Naval de Marseille (CNM) on May 29th.

After crossing the Atlantic towards the end of April the 88,500gt 2002-built vessel arrived in Marseille on April 28th for her scheduled refit. The scope of work carried out in CNM’s largest graving dock included class inspections, general maintenance and routine repairs. On the hotel side of the cruise ship, the public spaces were renovated and new features and spaces were added.

Meanwhile, also undergoing repair at this yard on May 23rd were three RoPax ferries:

  • Rhapsody – 44,307gt 1996-built, owned by Grandi Navi Veloci (GNV)
  • GNV Azzurra – 30,316gt 1981-built, owned by Italy’s Grandi Nevi Veloci (GNV) and operated by SNAV
  • Fantastic – 35,849gt 1996-built, owned by Italy’s Grandi Navi Veloci (GNV)
