Bordelon Marine completes conversion of Lilly Bordelon

Louisiana-based Bordelon Marine has completed the conversion and redelivery of the US-flagged Lilly Bordelon, transforming an existing offshore vessel into a DP2 ultra-light intervention vessel (ULIV) for subsea operations.

The vessel, part of the company's Stingray Series 260 class, has been repurposed to support inspection, maintenance, repair and light-construction activities in the offshore sector. The conversion reflects a wider industry trend towards extending asset life and adapting existing tonnage to meet changing operational requirements rather than commissioning newbuild vessels.

Following the upgrade programme, Lilly Bordelon now offers more than 511m² of clear deck space and features a mezzanine deck capable of supporting two work-class remotely operated vehicles (ROVs). The vessel is also fitted with an integrated ROV control room to support subsea intervention campaigns.

Key equipment includes a 60-tonne active heave-compensated crane equipped with more than 3,000m of wire, enabling deployment of subsea tools and equipment in deep-water operations. The vessel is also fitted with a 17-m helideck certified by the US Coast Guard and ABS, providing additional logistical flexibility during offshore projects.

Bordelon Marine said the conversion was intended to create a modern and cost-effective platform capable of supporting a broad range of subsea activities while offering greater operational flexibility for clients.
