Bolidt expands cruise refit and newbuild scope ahead of season

Resin-based decking specialist Bolidt has secured a series of large-scale cruise refit and newbuild projects as operators prepare for the upcoming cruise season. The company said the works rank among the most extensive in its portfolio across multiple fleets.
For MSC Cruises, Bolidt completed refit works on the Panama-flagged MSC Magnifica and is continuing upgrades on the Panama-flagged MSC Poesia at Palumbo Shipyards in Malta. The scope includes prefabricated installations, new MSC Yacht Club areas, and replacement of teak decking with Bolideck Future Teak. Similar works are planned for the Panama-flagged MSC Musica. The company has also secured contracts for newbuilds, including MSC World Asia, and projects within the Explora Journeys fleet such as Explora III.
Bolidt has delivered upgrades across AIDA Cruises’ fleet under the AIDA Evolution programme, including works on the Italy-flagged AIDAbella, with pool deck refurbishment and LED flooring installations. Further drydock projects are scheduled for additional vessels through 2028.
The company has also begun work on the Bahamas-flagged Harmony of the Seas at Navantia’s Cádiz yard, covering Boardwalk deck refurbishment. “Sustained demand for Bolidt’s refit expertise emphasises our status as the decking supplier of choice for a wide range of cruise operators,” said Robert van Aarle, director, Maritime & Defence.
