BLRT Repair Yards has marked its hundredth docking with the arrival of tanker Stoc Marcia for repair and modernisation works. The vessel represents one of a series of ongoing projects reflecting the steady demand for the company’s ship maintenance and conversion services.

At Western Shiprepair in Klaipėda, Lithuania, part of the BLRT group, work is carried out across various commercial and industrial vessels.

Recent activity also includes the docking of Trans Hav, a vessel owned by Sea-Cargo AS. Alongside its sister vessel Trans Sol – the vessels were formerly known as Misida and Misana – the vessel is receiving a transformative package of upgrades to turn it into a wind-solar hybrid, including a new weather deck and 1600m2 of photovoltaic panels, batteries, Norsepower rotor sails, NOx scrubbers, and other elements. The aim of the project is to reduce vessel emissions by around 50%.

Work undertaken on Trans Hav by BLRT thus far includes structural modifications, the installation of new rotor sails, exhaust system upgrades, and installation of new Kongsberg propeller blades optimised for a 14-knot service speed. Around 100 BLRT employees have been involved in the multi-phase project.
