BLRT Grupp has ordered a new floating dock for its Klaipėda shiprepair yard under a contract valued at USD 43 million (EUR 39.56 million).
The dock, measuring 200m by 35m with a lifting capacity of 15,000 tonnes, will be constructed by Hat-San Shipyard in Turkey and is scheduled for delivery in autumn 2027.
The unit will replace an existing dock and expand the yard’s ability to service Panamax-type vessels. The investment forms part of a wider programme to increase capacity and improve competitiveness across the group’s shiprepair operations.
Over the past five years, BLRT Grupp has invested more than EUR 100 million in its shiprepair segment, targeting higher throughput and the ability to handle larger vessels.
Chairman Fjodor Berman said recent infrastructure upgrades have already enhanced capacity across the group’s facilities. “Most recently, in August 2024, a new dock built by the same shipyard was commissioned in Tallinn. With dimensions 180m x 30m, and a lifting capacity of up to 10,000 tonnes, it was accompanied by the full renovation of the surrounding dock infrastructure.”
