Ardmore Shipping deploys SteelCorr AI solution to enhance vessel corrosion monitoring and paint maintenance

Ardmore Shipping has introduced SteelCorr’s Digital Paint Report app across its fleet to improve corrosion monitoring and paint upkeep. The software uses artificial intelligence to assess images taken by crew, creating standardised reports, tracking developing corrosion and helping plan maintenance and paint inventories. Ardmore said the system is already streamlining workflows by reducing manual reporting and allowing crew to concentrate on operational tasks.
The Bermuda-flagged Ardmore Seafox is among the vessels now using the platform. According to the company, the technology supports long-term asset integrity by improving consistency in condition monitoring and lowering the risk of unexpected repair costs. The app forms part of Ardmore’s wider push to place digital tools at the centre of ship management, including work under its Energy Transition Plan.

Ardmore expects the system to help extend the working life of its tankers while supporting safety and performance objectives.
