Anemoi Marine Technologies has renewed its framework agreement with Cosco Shipping Heavy Industry Co, Ltd (CHI) to expand cooperation on Rotor Sail installations across CHI subsidiary yards in China. The partners first signed in 2022 and have since completed nine Rotor Sail installations, including VLOC projects for Vale and U-Ming at CHI Zhoushan.
Under the updated agreement, Anemoi customers can access CHI’s integration design and onboard installation services across its yard network, covering retrofit and newbuild projects. The companies say the arrangement offers coordinated planning and clearer cost visibility for owners considering wind-assisted propulsion.
Nick Contopoulos, CCO at Anemoi, says: “By combining CHI’s installation expertise with our proven Rotor Sail technology, we can deliver even more value, clarity and confidence to owners looking to retrofit or install wind-assisted propulsion on their newbuild vessels.”
Jony Guo, director repair & conversion, commercial headquarters of CHI, says: “This agreement reflects our ongoing commitment to enabling greener maritime operations.” The renewal strengthens yard-level capability to integrate large wind propulsion units within existing drydock schedules.
