The Russia-flagged Admiral Nevelskoy has returned to service on the Korsakov-Kuril Islands route following scheduled docking and inspection by the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping. The work, completed in November 2025, included a comprehensive check of ship systems and hull repair operations.
Built in 2020 at the Nevsky Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant, part of United Shipbuilding Corporation, the vessel is the lead ship in the PV22 project series. Designers based the concept on the MPSV07 Arctic rescue vessel, giving the ferry improved ice capability and manoeuvrability for Far East operations.
Admiral Nevelskoy can carry up to 146 passengers in 38 cabins, including dedicated cabins for families and passengers with reduced mobility. The ship also has a medical unit and a restaurant for 74 people. In addition to passengers, it transports general cargo, containers including refrigerated units and vehicles.
The ferry measures 75 metres in length with a beam of 16 metres and a draught of five metres. Two Wärtsilä 9L20 engines provide a total of 3,600 kW, giving a service speed of 14.2 knots and an endurance of 15 days. The vessel plays a key role in logistics for the Kuril Islands and Far East regional transport links.
