Titan Clean Fuels, a subsidiary of Madrid-based Molgas Energy Group, has taken a new bunker barge, United LNG 1, on charter from owner, Somtralux. The 135m-long vessel, operated by United Bunkers, will supply ships in ports in the Zeebrugge, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Antwerp range.

Launched in December, the United LNG 1 will fuel container ships, PCTCs, and large tankers with bunkers including LNG, liquefied biomethane (LBM) and, in future, renewable hydrogen-derived e-methane (eLNG). The vessel will also provide fuels for cruise ships and other LNG bunker vessels.

United LNG 1 can carry out simultaneous bunkering operations: its eight deep-well main cargo pumps each deliver 165m3 of fuel per hour. This high capacity ensures that large ships can be refuelled within a normal port call. It is also equipped with subcoolers and a gas combustion unit, enabling specific gas-up and cooldown procedures.

Titan Clean Fuels Marine director, Niels Den Nijs, said: “As demand for LNG and LBM increases – in line with the growth of the LNG-fuelled fleet and supported by decarbonisation drivers like FuelEU Maritime – access to high-quality bunker vessels and various terminals is vital. This chartering agreement gives us even more flexibility in delivering methane pathway fuels to ship operators now and into the future.”

Titan was acquired by Molgas, backed by infrastructure investor, InfraVia, in October 2025.
