Viking Cruises takes delivery of Viking Jupiter

The 47,800gt ship has capacity for 930 passengers in 465 cabins.
The cruise operator, a 2012 start-up, has now ordered 16 vessels at Fincantieri which, the companies claim, is a record number of ships built by one builder for a single cruise line. Another ten ships, including options, are due to be built for the cruise company between now and 2027.
The Viking Jupiter, with design input from London-based SMC Design and Los Angeles company Rottet Studios, has a Scandinavian theme with all-veranda cabins, two pools and a spa with sauna and snow grotto.
Viking Cruises has two divisions: Viking Ocean Cruises and Viking River Cruises.

The sixth ship in a series of ten, Viking Jupiter, has been delivered to Los Angeles-headquartered Viking Cruises from Fincantieri’s Ancona facility.
