Shipping company Thun Tankers BV, part of Swedish shipping group Erik Thun, has placed an order with Dutch yard Scheepswerf Ferus Smit for one more 4,250dwt product tanker.

The tanker is scheduled to be delivered in May 2022. Together with one previously ordered sister ship, due to be delivered November this year, it will enter into a long-term agreement with UK-based Geos Group Ltd.

Both vessels will be built with “Not Always Afloat But Safely Aground” (NAABSA) concept, being able to call at tidal restricted small ports.

”With two high-quality NaabsaMAX size tankers we can offer increased flexibility in this niche segment. These tankers will be built to the absolutely latest design, enabling Geos Group Ltd. and their clients access to the most efficient and sustainable transport solution available in this segment,“ Joakim Lund, CCO, Thun Tankers BV said.
