Strenghtening of ship design collaboration

The agreement aims to enhance knowledge and skills in the specialist field of ship design to better meet the needs of customers in Europe and China. This follows from the Memorandum of Understanding signed in May this year.The CA signing means a material operational phase in the collaboration.

Under this agreement, a joint working team will be formed to collaborate on optimising existing Rolls-Royce and Bestway vessel designs in close dialogue with owner operators. Through a combination of experience and knowledge exchange, Rolls-Royce ship designs can be customised to better meet the needs of the Chinese market, while Bestway's designs will be optimised for a European customer base. Vessel designs will include product and chemical tankers, RoRo, RoPax, feeder containers, and multi-purpose vessels and bulk carrier. Significantly, new designs will also address the growing demand for environmentally friendly, energy efficient ships, including the application of Liquid Nitrogen Gas (LNG) power.Through absorbing new technologies, new ideas, new equipment and new methods, jointly develop and optimize new designs of fuel efficient and environmental friendly, to fulfil tomorrow’s market, both parties will promote the new designs in both Chinese domestic and international market.
