Stena Bulk invests into more IMOIIMAX tankers

Three new 50,000-dwt tankers will join Stena fleet

Swedish shipping company Stena Bulk confirms it has placed a US$200 million order for three 50,000-dwt tankers with the Chinese shipyard CSSC Offshore & Marine Engineering (Guangzhou Shipyard International).

Stena has also taken out an option on a further two vessels. The first delivery of the type IMOIIMAX MR tankers is planned for the end of 2017 after which the ships will be delivered in intervals of three months. The vessels now ordered are of the same type as the ten chemical and product tankers contracted by Stena Bulk in 2012 from the same yard, the first four of which were delivered earlier this year.
