Stena and OljOla team up for bunker supply project

Swedish bulker supply specialist Stena Oil, as well as engineering and shipping companies Stena Teknik and OljOla have agreed a new joint venture which has ordered one 2,000dwt oil and chemical tanker from Turkey’s Genka yard. The joint venture involves OljOla Shipping as owner with technical management, Stena Oil as commercial operator and Stena Teknik as project and newbuilding management.

The vessel is designed according requirements for bunker supply in the North European region. It will measure 66.7m in length, 6m in breadth, and will have a draught of 5.6m. It will be equipped with two 478-kW Tier III main engines with two propellers. The tanker will have 10 oil tanks and two slop tanks to load chemicals as per IMO Type II, including methanol and various biofuels. Cargo will be transported in coated cargo tanks over five complete segregations and discharged by screw type cargo pumps. Accommodation is provided in nine cabins with LSA (life-saving appliances) suited for 12 persons.

The bunker supply vessel is designed by marine architect Kuzey.
