Sirius orders two oil/chemical tankers

Artist’s impression of the tanker design

Sweden’s Sirius Shipping AB has ordered two oil/chemical tankers at the Avic Dingheng shipyard in China.

The vessels will be 119.9m long, 19.4m wide and have a draught of 7.4m. They are built to a design that started under the name “EVOlution” in 2012, and which was jointly developed by the design company FKAB and Sirius.
Proven hull lines, a gas-ready two-stroke engine and a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system for the main engine are said to reduce the environmental footprint of the tankers, Sirius said.
