Silver Cruises orders another ultra-luxury cruise ship from Fincantieri

The new vessel will be a sistership of Silversea’s flagship, Silver Muse

The contract is valued at over 320 million euros. The ship will be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2021 and will carry about 600 passengers. Named Silver Dawn, the new vessel will be a sistership of Silversea’s flagship, Silver Muse, which was launched from the Fincantieri shipyard Sestri Ponente in April 2017. The new order comes just months after the cruise line signed a contract with Fincantieri for the construction of the liner Silver Moon, another sistership to Silver Muse, which is due to be delivered in 2020. The Silver Dawn will offer all-suite accommodation, with all-verandas. Like its sister ships, Silver Dawn is likely to be built to Green Star 3 Design standards, which will require it to be designed, built and equipped in such a way as to prevent air and water pollution. Silversea wants to expand to at least a 12-ship fleet; the latest order brings the fleet to 11 ships.

Silversea Cruises has awarded Italian yard Fincantieri an order for another ultra-luxury cruise ship of 40,700gt.
