Second new ship on Hoek van Holland-Killingholme route

"Stena Transit"

The new RoRo ferry of Stena Line, the "Stena Transit", was officially christened in Hook of Holland.

"Stena Transit" is the final vessel of Stena Line’s major investment programme on the North Sea over the last five years. The investment programme involved the introduction of the "Stena Trader" and "Stena Traveller", the lengthening of the at that time operating "Stena Britannica" and "Stena Hollandica", the introduction of the Superferries "Stena Britannica" and "Stena Hollandica"in 2010 and this year the introduction of the "Stena Transporter" and "Stena Transit".
212m long "Stena Transit" sails under the Dutch flag and will be deployed on the freight route Hook of Holland – Killingholme as a replacement for the charter vessel "Coraggio". The vessel was built in South Korea at the Samsung Heavy Industries shipyard. On more than 4,000lm she has a capactity of 260 freight units. In addition she can also carry 300 passengers. Due to this the freight capacity will increase with 30% compared to the existing vessels.
