Second GRP ferry for island services

First ferry Don Juan R for Lineas Romero (Source: Gondan)

Spanish yard Gondan Shipbuilders said it has signed a contract for construction of one ferry for the shipowner Líneas Romero, based in Las Palmas.
The vessel, built in glass-reinforced plastic (GRP), will have capacity for 360 passengers. 31m long and 10.5m wide it will have a wave piercing bow design allowing the vessel to maintain speed in adverse sea conditions. After Don Juan R delivered to Lineas Romero in March, it is the second ferry that Gondan will have built for this customer. Lineas Romero operates services between the islands of Fuerteventura, Lanzarote and La Graciosa.
