Royal IHC has been awarded contract to build TSHD for Gulf region

The TSHD is specifically designed for operating in high temperatures (Impression: Royal IHC)

The vessel will have a capacity of 6,000m3 and will form a part of NMDC’s international growth and fleet investment strategy. The design has been jointly developed by IHC and NMDC. It is a tailor-made solution that combines shallow draft and a large dredging depth with high manoeuvrability and was specifically designed for operating in high temperatures, the yard said. The design also includes a one man bridge and a forward looking multi beam survey system.

Dutch yard Royal IHC has signed a contract for the construction of a trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD) with Abu Dhabi-based National Marine Dredging Company (NMDC).
