Rotor tug with 100 tonnes bollard pull christened

The RT Raven was recently christened in Sharjah

The 100-tonne bollar pull rotor tug RT Raven has been christened at Albwardy Damen Shipyard in Sharjah.

The 46m-long vessel is a Robert Allan Ltd and Damen Hardinxveld ART 100-46 design. It will be deployed in the provision of offshore services, towage assistance, personnel transfer and standby duties at ConocoPhillips’ Bayu Undan field, north of Australia in the Timor Sea.
The RT Raven will join a fleet of infield support vessels (ISV) managed by KT-Maritime Services Australia, a joint venture between Kotug International and Teekay Australia. The ISV is powered by patented Rotortug® technology comprising three separate azimuthing units – two forward and one aft. The tug’s dynamic positioning capability was achieved by the addition of a single tunnel thruster in the stern.
