RoPax ferry for Scottish shipowner CMAL delivered

The Loch Seaforth was recently delivered

The 117m-long vessel has a capacity for 700 passengers, and 143 cars or 20 lorries.
At the end of the year, it will begin its service linking the mainland of north-western Scotland with the Isle of Lewis in the Hebrides on the Stornoway-Ullapool route. Because of its high-value, modern design and construction, the ferry is suitable for 24-hour operation and will replace two older vessels, FSG said.

Peter Sierk leaves FSG
Meanwhile the takeover of FSG by Siem Industries Inc, which was announced in September, has become effective.
Following this news, FSG also reported that Peter Sierk has stepped down as CEO of FSG.
Sierk had worked for 18 years for the yard – prior to his appointment as CEO he had held the position of head of finance for nine years. Ulf Bertheau, who has been legal advisor for FSG, took over the management on November 10th, until a new CEO is found. FSG is looking for a shipbuilding expert with experience in the market.

The RoPax ferry Loch Seaforth, built for the Scottish owner Caledonian Maritime Assets Limited (CMAL), has left its German building yard Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft mbH & Co (FSG).
