Engine room of the new Viking 92 Enclosed Bridge Convertible yacht

Rolls-Royce will debut its new generation MTU series 2000 M96 yacht engine at the upcoming Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. The EPA Tier III-compliant engine will be presented for the first time in North America aboard the new Viking 92 Enclosed Bridge Convertible, the largest resin-infused sport fishing convertible hull in the world.

The MTU Series 2000 M96 generation is said to offer enhanced acceleration and low fuel consumption in twelve-cylinder ratings from 1,700bhp to 1,920bhp and 16-cylinder ratings from 2,185bhp to 2,600bhp of power, making it particularly suitable for luxury and sportfishing yachts.
During recent sea trials with Viking, the new generation 16V 2000 M96L impressed with faster acceleration and outstanding maneuvrability while powering the 92 Enclosed Bridge Convertible, MTU said.
