The provider of power systems, Rolls-Royce, signed an 18 million GBP contract with Italian shipyard Rosetti Marino S.p.A for the design and delivery of an integrated power propulsion and equipment system.

It will be installed on an anchor handling vessel (AHV), built for Augusta Offshore S.p.A. The newbuilding will be 79.7m long and 19.2m wide with a design draught of 6.3m. It offers accommodation facilities for 28 persons. Due for delivery in mid 2014, the vessel is designed and equipped for handling anchors and mooring lines in water depths up to 2000m as well as to undertake oil recovery, ROV/DP operation, fire fighting, standby and rescue duties. Rolls-Royce will also supply the main engines, propulsion systems and gear, tunnel thrusters, rudders, deck machinery, electrical systems as well as automation and control systems.
