Höegh LNG Holdings Ltd announced that it has signed agreements with Wärtsilä Oil and Gas and Moss Maritime for its first project to convert LNG carriers into floating storage and regasification units (FSRUs).

The agreement includes the ordering of critical equipment with long delivery lead time. By ordering the equipment in advance, Höegh LNG will reduce the conversion schedule by six months, from 18 months to 12 months. This will give a planned delivery date for the FSRU conversion project end 2017. The conversion aims to rapidly provide vessels to meet strong demand in the regassification market, Höegh LNG said.
