Dutch shipping company Wagenborg Shipping placed an order with Dutch yard Royal Niestern Sander to build another 14,000dwt multi-purpose freighter. The type EasyMax ship will be the third vessel of this class ordered by the customer, future sister vessel of Egbert Wagenborg and Máxima. The newbuilding is expected to be delivered in the first half of 2023. In addition, an option has also been taken on a fourth Easymax vessel.

The EasyMax concept was jointly developed by Wagenborg and Niestern Sander and has been recognised because of superior fuel efficiency. With a length of 149.95m, a beam of 15.90m and a draught of 8.60m, the EasyMax has two large rectangular holds with high capacity for heavy or light cargo, timber, paper and provides open-top loading. This allows for maximum deployment in Wagenborg’s operating area. The EasyMax is suitable for worldwide commercial operations, including in such areas as the Baltic Sea, North Sea, the Mediterranean, the St Lawrence Seaway, the Panama Canal, and the Suez Canal.
