Tug newbuildings under construction at Master Boat Builders

At its Coden, Alabama, yard, Master Boat Builders has started construction of four 28.3m-long tugs for U.S. customers. Two are being built for customer Bay Houston Towing Company of Houston and two for Suderman & Young Towing Company, also based in Houston. They are scheduled to be delivered starting in July 2022.

All tugs were designed by Robert Allan Ltd and are of type RApport ASD. Theappr. 26m-long vessels will have a bollard pull of over 52 tonnes via two Caterpillar 3512E main engines, EPA Tier 4 certified, along with two Schottel Z-Drive thrusters. They will meet United States Coast Guard regulations and will be ABS classed.
