New service vessel from Alnmaritec

Service vessel for Gibraltar

The ‘MHB Swordfish’ has been built for the Gibraltar based company MH Bland and is a customised version of the popular ‘Wave Provider’ class of vessels from Alnmaritec. She is the fourth vessel Alnmaritec has built over recent years for marine servicing work in Gibraltar.

‘MHB Swordfish’ is a15m long and 5m wide aluminium asymmetric catamaran with a displacement of around 17 t. She is fitted with twin Volvo Penta D9 MH diesel engines driving through conventional ZF gearboxes to a pair of Hamilton 322 waterjets. These give her a top speed of over 20 knots and a manoeuvrability which is ideal for close quarters work around the harbour and anchorage. She carries a complement of 3 crew and 12 passengers in comfort within the accommodation and she has a large working deck aft which is serviced by a Palfinger PK 6500 hydraulic knuckle boom crane.

Alnmaritec, the specialist aluminium boat builder based in Northumberland, UK, recently launched a new offshore ‘Marine Service Vessel’ for operation in and around the port of Gibraltar.
