New SAR vessel designs presented

The two new search-and-resue vessel designs

Covered, high-speed craft based on the ProZero hull, the boats have different-sized beams. One, optimised for a double outboard drive, has a beam of 2.84m and great manoeuvrability, Tuco said. Its sister boat features a full walk-around deck and beam of 4.05m, offering the SAR crew safer side decks surrounded by full-sized safety railings. The beamier boat is equipped with an inboard diesel engine installation and waterjet propulsion.
According to the Tuco Marine Group, its ProZero range of boats offers high-performance, deep-V hull shapes designed specifically for the demanding military and coastguard sector. ProZero boats are available in many variations carefully suited to each user’s particular requirements. Cockpit layouts in the SAR boats are arranged to maximise use of modern-day SAR management and situational awareness electronic aids.
The ProZero's high-performance, deep-V hull enables the boats to go fast even in rough seas, Tuco said. Since SAR missions in these conditions are limited mainly by the shock loads on the occupants during impact with waves, all ProZero SAR boats have been developed with the highest focus on shock mitigation.
Tuco said that ProZero SAR boats could be rapidly reconfigured to meet different roles and requirements, including ambulance variants, fire-support variants and command-platform variants. The module-based construction system allows easy adjusting and customising, it pointed out.

Tuco Marine has presented two new search-and-resue (SAR) vessel designs. The Danish boatbuilder said the boats had been developed at "international requests" and in close collaboration with SAR experts.
