New vessel for Leinebris to be built at Tersan

Norwegian fishing company Leinebris AS has placed an order with Turkey’s Tersan Shipyard for a 64.9m fishing vessel. Leinebris AS is a long-term partner of Tersan. The previous, still operating vessel named Leinebris had been delivered in 2015.

Designed by Norwegian marine architects Skipsteknisk As as its predecessor, the new vessel of type ST-158 will have accommodation for 25 personnel with high standards and facilities for recreation. It is due to be delivered in 2025 and will then also be named Leinebris

The newbuilding will be equipped with three different fishing methods, including longline, seine and net fishing. The ship will have a large battery pack and three diesel-electric generator sets with azimuth thrusters in stern and bow aiming to achieve high energy efficiency and good manoeu-vrability. The 15m-wide vessel will have double cargo decks, covered working decks and a moonpool. Storage tanks will enable the vessel to catch fish alive for fresh production or for the possibility to unload directly from the tanks to shore. Low hull resistance and good seakeeping characteristics have been a major focus during the development of this project.
